Buying a new home theater audio system sounds expensive, especially if you buy the components individually or separately.  This is so true; but it does not mean that you cannot afford owning a decent home theater sound and entertainment system.

What to do?

First, go window shopping.  Window shopping enables you to compare prices amongst various brands of home theater audio system.  You look up prices of home theater audio system sold in sets; then, you try to look up prices of the different components that make up a home theater audio system.

But which is better, buy in sets or individually?  If you want a high-performing home theater audio system, it is best to purchase the components separately because such offers expandability as it allows you to upgrade the sound system and enables you to attach other devices such as gaming devices; gives a high quality overall sound, and allows you to customize the sound system according to your preference.  This comes in handy if you have any intentions of impressing the people you invite over to your home.  However, if you add up each purchased component, the price is more expensive than if you buy a set of home theater sound system.

If the home theater sound system is only for personal use, like just for the family to listen to music with or watch movies, then you can purchase a home theater system in sets. Choosing whether to by in set or individually, ask yourself this:  how much are you willing to spend for a home theater audio system?
